Meet Mrs. Aaronson

Hello! My name is Nicole Aaronson and this is my third year teaching K-5 music at Loon Lake Elementary School. I am very excited to continue working with Loon Lake's wonderful students and families. Although this is my third year teaching in Walled Lake Consolidated Schools, this is my ninth year of teaching and my sixth year of teaching K-5 music.

I grew up in a small coal mining community near Hershey, Pennsylvania and earned my bachelor's degree in music education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, my husband and I traveled to Daegu, South Korea where we lived on the seventeenth floor of a high-rise apartment building and taught English as a Second Language to Korean middle school students. Upon returning to the United States, we relocated to north central Iowa where I spent three wonderful years teaching Preschool through 8th grade vocal and instrumental music and learning all about life on the farm. In 2013, we relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I taught preschool and preschool music while completing my master's degree in music education through Colorado State University's distance learning program. Two years ago, we moved to south eastern Michigan and I have quickly fallen in love with our new home!

When I am not at Loon Lake, I enjoy hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, and traveling. I plan to run my first sprint triathlon in 2017. There will be lots of running, biking, and swimming in my future!

I am very much looking forward to seeing all of you and I hope that you will find this blog to be a useful resource for staying up-to-date with Loon Lake's music classroom.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Nicole Aaronson
